S. T. Dupont Picasso Limited Edition Pocket Lighter Nr 212/6000

At the beginning of the 1960's, Pablo Picasso chose three S. Dupont lighters to use in his art. In the Chinese lacquer surfaces, he engraved a Harlequin on one lighter and a Pierrot figure on another, as gifts for his son and daughter-in-law. Today, these lighters are part of the personal collection of Mrs Ruiz-Picasso. On the third lighter, which he gave to a friend, he engraved a faun, a recurring motif in Picasso's work which is often considered to be a form of self-portrait.

Dupont is proud that its objects were chose by such a prestigious artists and, to commemorate the occasion, has created the limited edition "faun" lighter. The Picasso Limited Edition series are represented by: Jeroboam Table ligh. Ter (500pcs), Secret Carriage Clock (500 pcs), a pocket lighter (6000 pcs). This is the number 212 of 6000.

I bought it new, and fired it once or twice. Its one of many of my private collection.

In 1993, the TAP cabin magazine had an article about my collection of S. I also have a Gold Jubilee in the same condition as this, and a Silver Jubilee never used still with the original plastic coating coating on it. If there is interest please ask for quote.
