Dupont continues to explore the theme of the "Decorative Arts of the World" with a sumptuous evocation of the Italian Renaissance in general and Florentine Architecture in the Medici era in particular, with the famous Duomo. This new edition demonstrates the scope and precision of ST Dupont's expertise in the goldsmith's art, but also his firm belief in the Renaissance values?? associated with art and humanism. ST Dupont has created exceptional pieces for kings, emperors, maharajas, people of power and influence, and for collectors seeking exceptional and exclusive products.

Founded over 140 years ago, ST Dupont has a rich history linked to royal families and aristocracy. But having a strong connection to the past doesn't mean the brand adheres to a tried and true strategy.

In fact, it is a dedication to innovation that has allowed them to be one of the leading luxury manufacturers for almost a century and a half. From the darkness of the Middle Ages to the light of the Modern Age, the Italian Renaissance was one of the most important factors in the development of Western civilization. The rediscovery of humanist values?? during Antiquity once again placed man at the center of the universe: God stops being the only guide, man becomes the master of his destiny. In the field of architecture, it was during the Renaissance that the construction of buildings became an art: the architect "thinks" the project and draws the plans, he is no longer, as in the Middle Ages, only the one who carries out the work.

The representation of the human being with the rediscovery of perspective in painting is at the origin of a model of culture that lasted until the beginning of the 20th century. Artistic center of the Renaissance, Florence (Tuscany), a city of art par excellence, is home to some of the best examples of Italian architecture and art. An eloquent symbol of this is its most famous achievement, the dome of the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, erected between 1420 and 1436. An authentic technical prodigy, this dome characterizes the new style for its great clarity of volumes and its simple proportions to which closed and symmetrical shapes can be added. This architecture is distinguished by dark stone pilasters and cornices, which rise above surfaces covered in subtly colored plaster.

STDupont today pays tribute to this masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance to create architectural objects with rich and sophisticated decorations that combine meticulous goldsmithing with the mastery of lacquer. The polychrome of the marbles and the spectacular marquetry work of the facades are taken up and enhanced by the geometry of the shapes and the harmony of the colors: a contrasting mixture of dark green lacquer and marbled white lacquer. The presence of cornices on the lighters and the watch, the personalization of the pen ring, the decoration of the clip and the nib are witnesses of this exceptional precision work.

The relief inlay of red jasper, symbol of the Renaissance, recalls the bricks present throughout the dome: 10 in the table lighters, 14 in the Jeroboam and the clock, as well as 6 and 7 in the pen and fountain pen, these stones create a warm and captivating combination of colors. This exceptional limited edition consists of a fountain pen, both the pens and the pens are numbered from 2420 in reference to 1420, the start date of the construction of this sumptuous building.
